When Things Start to Click
Don’t you love it when things start to click? I know I do. There’s a point in every new thing you try where you stop surviving it and start understanding it. Maybe it’s a job, maybe a hobby- for me, it was a job.
At first, everything is brand new. You focused on remembering the steps, not messing up, and figuring things out as they come. And honestly, that phase is expected. There isn’t always a “cheat sheet” for the situations you run into.
But you eventually reach a different stage. You ask better questions, notice patterns, and realize that some decisions matter more than others. Instead of reacting in the moment, you begin to understand what comes next.
I’ve been hitting that point lately in my life.
I’ve started to see how much better my work feels when you learn things on purpose instead of by accident. I didn’t just want to understand what to do when something came up — I wanted to understand why before it did. There have been moments since I became an agent where I questioned if I was doing anything right at all, but learning the behind-the-scenes details, being prepared before showings, and understanding what conversations need to happen long before decisions are made are what actually make the process smoother. Those are the parts that make the process smoother and helpful for not only yourself, but for others.
I’ve been reshaping how I spend my time day-to-day to focus more on that side of it. More studying, more utilizing my resources, more asking questions, more intention behind what I’m doing and why.
That’s the season I’m in right now, and I plan on sharing pieces of helpful things along the way!
Whatever stage you’re in- a hobby, a career, even a place you live- if anything feels unfamiliar right now, I hope they start to feel like yours soon.
